The August Break - Day 17 - Touch, but mostly the Glenwood Avenue Arts Fest

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch,
a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest
compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which
have the potential to turn a life around."
~ Leo F. Buscaglia

Today had absolutely perfect weather, the variety of which Chicago sees rarely, and even fewer days that fall on a weekend.  Adam and I biked the short distance over to the Glenwood Avenue Art Fest.  Although we've lived in neighboring West Ridge for a number of years, this was our first visit to the Rogers Park fest.

Today's prompt for The August Break was touch.  Which, frankly, left me a bit stumped on how to photograph.  In a lucky turn of events, I learned a Thai massage training classmate, Brook, was giving chair massages at the Glenwood Arts Festival. Thai massage is of course all about touch!  Giving touch in a compassionate manner, learning to receive touch, and touch as self care.

In addition to giving Thai massage, Brook is also an artist and and has a clothing line.  You can check it out here.  You can see glimpses of her "Measured in Joules" series over her shoulder in the the first photo.

And on to the rest of the fest!  The Puppet Bike was even there.  I love the Puppet Bike!

Someday I'll get a website up and running.  :-)
