Hello, and welcome to small
beauty everywhere! I’m diving into the
world of blogging, frankly, with little idea how to go about it. I begin this project with a few quotes cheering
me on.
First, the HOW:
“Don’t let the
perfect be the enemy of the good.” ~ Voltaire
That isn’t to say I
won’t strive to have the best possible blog!
Rather, if I wait for the perfect time, or to know all the answers on
how to blog, it will never get done. The
disorganized overloaded bookshelves in our office are a fine example of this, I
keep waiting for a large chunk of time on a gloomy day to tackle the
project. If I would spend even a half hour a
week on this, it would be done already! (and a new blog, what a great way to procrastinate further!)
Two, the WHAT:
“As you start to
walk out
on the way, the way appears” ~ Rumi.
I have this quote on a Post-It note
on a framed print, an unexpected birthday gift from thoughtful friend, resting
on the desk in the home office. It seems
double-inspiring! Take the first step,
and have faith all will unfold naturally, as intended.
So, what will this blog be
ABOUT? Oh, this and that.... yoga, food,
family, memories, gardening, photography, biking, living the happiest and
healthiest life for me, adventures in daily life. If you’ve been a friend on Facebook, more or
less an extension of what I’ve been posting there.
A few words on the blog title, small
beauty everywhere. This phrase came to
me while out on one of the many walks I take with Maggie the Dog. “Walk” is a loose term for our outings,
really a series of stops to sniff / leave her scent with periodic strolling
between locations. As she’s aged, the
pace of the walking has decreased, and the distance covered is less. These days we basically go around the block,
slowly. She still gets super excited
when I get the leash out! There is a lot
of standing around on my part. Which,
has actually been a blessing (more so when the weather is pleasant!) I’ve noticed all sorts of details I never
would have seen otherwise at a faster pace.
If we pay attention, there are really so many glimpses of beauty all
around us.

I created a Facebook page of the
same name, please "like" and share your experiences of finding joy in “every day” life.
Lastly, I welcome any feedback on
the blogging process. Thanks!
Hugs,
Tara
